Viacom Water Bottle Project

I was asked to put together a team for an event at Viacom. They are a huge media company and are working to reduce their plastic consumption. As part of that initiative, they have given ALL of their employees in New York City stainless steel water bottles, so that they won’t need to recycle plastic bottles in the future. The issue becomes how do 5,000 employees who all get the same bottle know which is theirs? So I brought in a team of heavy hitters to the Viacom offices in the heart of New York City to customize bottles for their employees with their names. Together, we rocked hundreds of bottles and plan to go back for more work soon. Big thanks to the team including BrainPaste, Leon Rainbow, Zar, Mimik, 5in5o, Jenna Morello, Big Ronnie and Morello+Company!! Check out some pics from th event…

Jerome Gonzalez, Rest in Peace…

A good friend and fellow artist, Jerome Gonzalez, passed away earlier this year. He was a great artist, community activist, writer, and family who made a lasting impression on everyone he met. I was lucky enough to work with Jerome on many projects over the past few years and he was always a stand-up guy. I was especially moved by his mission to spread love, knowledge and understanding so I worked up this illustration in his memory. It’s heavily inspired by his own words. So…to my dear friend Jerome, also know as Rome, Romie and Cuzo…rest in peace, brother. You may be gone, but never forgotten. One.

And this is just the first of many tribute pieces to come. Your name will live on, bro…Cuzo forever.

Blackbook Sessions

I haven’t kept a traditional graffiti black book in YEARS! I still draw and sketch just to experiment with letters, but don’t really put in the detail work that a good blackbook really demands. Anyway, I had fun rocking this book for the homie, Die Slow. I might have to go back to my roots and break out the markers more often. Check it out!

¡Viva Cuba Libre!

As a Cuban American who is very proud of his roots, it is an exciting moment for our people. Although the death of Fidel Castro will not bring any big changes for the Cuban people, it is the end of his infamous legacy. One that oppressed and killed anyone that dared to even think about getting in his way of ahead of his agenda. We have a long way to go before the island is liberated, but we are one step closer. ¡Que viva Cuba libre!

Carrie Fisher, rest in peace…

Damn, another childhood staple taken away this year. I just watched Star Wars Rogue One and it ends with a short cameo by Princess Leia. As I am walking out of the theater I hear of the passing of Carrie Fisher. Sad moment. In any case, I had to do a little drawing to honor a character (and the actress that brought her to life) that was such a big part of my youth. Rest in peace.
