Love Over Hate

It’s been a few months since I posted anything up here and the world has flipped upside, especially in my part of the woods. With a global pandemic changing everything, followed by a series of horrific events related to racism in our country, the world seems desperate and divided. It felt right to paint something that could spread a little positivity so I went with a “Love Over Hate” lettering approach. Nothing too crazy, just simple, straightforward with a little style…haha. Check it out!

Alphabeta

I was originally working on this collection of letters for the 36 Days of Type project, but was sidetracked by the COVID-19 craziness and decided to stop at “Z”. In any case, I am happy with how these turned out. I’ve always been really critical of my own letters and making sure they have good flow and movement. Aerosol: Graffiti | Street Art | New Jersey | Now

I had the honor of being chosen as one of the artists to create an installation for an exhibition at Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey named “Aerosol: Graffiti | Street Art | New Jersey | Now”. Here is a write up from Morris Museum:

New Jersey—uniquely positioned between Philadelphia and New York City, the two historic centers of graffiti and street art—plays a vital role in the ever-evolving aerosol art narrative. This exhibition, co-curated by Will Kasso Condry, celebrates the vitality of graffiti writing and street art in New Jersey today through the work of twelve established and emergent artists, painted directly on the Museum’s walls.

Participating Artists
4sakn, Acet TM7, Dave Mek One Klama, Dean Ras Innocenzi, Demerock, Distort, Elan One, Felipe Prox One Rivas, Jonathan Conner (LANK), Leon Rainbow, Maliq Griffin and Will Kasso Condry

I’ve got to give a huge shout out to Will Kasso for including me in this show and creating a stellar lineup, Ron Labaco and Dr. Cleveland Johnson of the Morris Museum for opening your doors to us, all of the other artists for pushing the culture forward and everyone who has helped make this show a success.

Aerosol runs until March 15, 2020. Visit Morris Museum for more info.
