What is an Aerosol Art Battle?
A theme is given the day of the event. Then artists are given an equal amount of time to complete their art on space provided. Example, canvas, Crescent Graffiti, Paper, wood. A qualified panel of judges base the art on different criteria, lettering, concept, color, composition, originality and technique.

Black Book Battle
Open to everyone.. Bring your own Markers
Register at Noon or anytime before event at Colorest during business hours.

Crescent will provide all on-time attendees with Black Book. Colorest will be providing some art materials, although contestants are urged to bring materials such as: colored pencils, markers, paint markers etc. to compete in battle. Sharing could take away valuable time! Registration is limited!

Rules:
Registrants will be given a topic to use for inspiration, they will be allowed (?) minutes to complete this piece. Then Judges will pick winner based on same criteria for Aerosol Event. If you have never competed and wants some tips take our workshop from 12-2 on Saturday 11/12 with Leon Rainbow (Judge) for tips and tricks!

What is a Black Book Battle?
Similar to the aerosol event but, instead of painting on large surfaces you draw, paint and design all on paper. Black books are a place
for artists to put down ideas, Crescent® Graffiti Paper™ is designed specifically for spray paints, acrylics and won’t dry out markers. Great place for artists to sketch or experiment anywhere inspiration strikes.

Paint For The Cure

It was my pleasure to work with Mrs. G’s and the Susan G. Koman Foundation. Myself and 5 selected students painted fridges to raise awareness for breast cancer awareness.

S.A.G.E. Collective was in the house at The Center for Contemporary Art’s Anti Gala on 9/24/2011 doing live mural painting and bodypainting with Leon Rainbow and hula hooping by Andrea Gianchiglia.  Check out the fun video below shot by Jolene and edited by me.  Was a total blast being there, thanks to Ellen and everyone from the CCA http://ccabedminster.org/ for having us out!

Paint Our Fridge Pink Contest

Mrs. G TV & Appliances is calling on all young artists in grades 6 through 12 to show their talent and support of Breast Cancer Awareness in a refrigerator-decorating contest. The top 3 entries will be invited to our showroom to paint their designs on retired refrigerators and have a chance to meet Trenton graffiti artist Leon Rainbow, the Jersey Fresh Jam artist who has been featured on CNN and in the New York Times and Princeton Magazine. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $150 savings bond and Mrs. G TV & Appliances will give a matching donation, plus $1 for every voter entry up to $500, to Susan G. Komen of Central/South Jersey.

To participate, please download the entry form and template (PDF or JPG) and come up with your design concept, keeping in mind that you will have to paint it on a full-size fridge if you are one of the top 3 chosen. All students under the age of 18 must have signed parent/guardian permission to participate in the contest. Signed consent also gives Mrs. G TV & Appliances permission to use any images of the winning design and artist in any media placement during and following the contest. Designs can be submitted by mail or email and must be received by Monday, September 26th, 11:00pm EST. Mrs G TV & Appliances will pick the top 3 artists and notify them by phone or email. The painting event, which is open to the public, will occur on Saturday October 1, 2011 and the refrigerators will be on display through late Fall.

Freestyle Fridays Graffiti Paper Edition

Last Weekend I participated in the Estria Battle NYC, in Brooklyn. At the Battle we all got this Graffiti Paper from Cresent Paper. They also used it for the James Top Blackbook Competition. I met the rep and she was very cool. I have worked with many papers and I was a bit skeptical about using spray paint and markers on it. I also use water color so lets throw that in. When I cracked the paper I noticed it was very smooth. I did two test pieces the results are:

Watercolor and Ink Pens

(little bit of wrinkling normal with water color)

Added Some Spray Paint With Scrap Paint

Added Some Spray Paint With Scrap Paint

(took it like a champ some bubbling etc..from using different spray paints)
